Université Laval will host the next spring the 37e Canadian Materials Science Conference (CMSC), chaired by Professor Carl Blais of Département de génie des mines, des matériaux et de la métallurgie. This conference, organized under the auspices of the CMI (Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum), aims to provide a privileged platform for the dissemination of results of academic research in materials science, and emphasizes student contributions.

This year, the conference will include 8 symposia:

  • Materials for Additive Manufacturing
  • Light Metals: Development, Production, and Processing
  • Materials for Health Applications
  • Digital Design and Artificial Intelligence Applied to Materials Science
  • Materials for Clean and Renewable Energy: Production, Storage, and Utilization
  • Novel, Advanced, and Functionalized Materials
  • Surface Engineering, Functional Coatings, and Interfacial Phenomena
  • Sustainability and Circular Economy

You can submit your abstract now for a presentation or poster. The deadline is February 4, 2026.

Prizes will be awarded to the best presentations and posters. We encourage you to participate.
