Scholarships and Financial Aid Awarded by REGAL

For the 2023-2024 competition, two scholarships of CA$10,000 each were awarded.

Congratulations to the recipients:

Ali Kodfard, master’s student at UQAC under the supervision of Lukas Dion and Laszlo Kiss
Title of his research project: Thermal Imbalance in an Electrolysis Cell and Its Impact on Chemical and Electrical Distribution

Mehran Shahin, doctoral student at UdeS under the supervision of Martin Désilets and François Allard
Title of his research project: Improved 3D finite element based thermo-electric model of an aluminum electrolysis cell through modeling bath and side ledge composition change during its operation

For the 2023-2024 competition, a scholarship of $2,000 CAD was awarded to:

Marie Aimee Tuyizere Flora, doctoral student under the supervision of Houshang Alamdari and Carl Duchesne
Title of his research project: Hybrid bio-binder as a replacement for coal tar pitch in pre-baked anodes
